TedX
TedX was a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of information from experts with a strong knowledge base of their topic. The format used by the organizers of multiple presentations on topics so varied, ranging from biking to ambiguous geneitalia may be off putting to some. However it reminds me of the rationale behind a strong liberal arts education. Exposure to new ideas, to knowledge outside of one's scope, to information beyond one's experiences allows for great opportunity.
It is only by opening ourselves up to new ideas that we can grow as people and as artists. TedX brings together innovators and those who want to become innovators. It brings together brilliant minds and allows those minds to share their brilliance and opens the listeners to becoming more brilliant.
TedX is inspirational in the ingenuity of its diversity, its excellent presenters, its wealth of knowledge, and is on my calendar for 2012.

TEDx Rochester and RIT Link
While waiting for TEDx to start and looking over the speaker lineup, 6 out of 15 of the speakers are involved with RIT in some form or another.
This should be interesting.

10 Thesis ideas
2) Creating all the assets for a movie about living a life and aging. The main part of the thesis would be the design of the character as well as the aging process and textures
3) Creating the 2057 Chevrolet in 3D. Much like the Thunderbird, Mustang, PT Cruiser, Prowler and Camero
4) Designing an installation piece in the bathroom that would track if someone washed their hands, a laser would project on the floor if they had or not and would follow them around.
5) Design the website for the Transportation Museum, creating immersive video be highly functional
6) Create a website that has just menus on it from restaurants near you. They would all be formatted the same and would be easily navigable so when someone wants to eat something, they can just look it up and easily know how to navigate the menu. It would include an allergy section so you will be able to know if you can eat it or not.
7) Create and Design an android app for gold index. Offering another way to purchase gold.
